A look behind the scenes: Pixelogic puzzle reviewer
Below is a screenshot of an internal tool I created to review and approve (or reject) submitted puzzles. The program displays the puzzle solution, title, author, submission date, and the approximate difficulty of the puzzle (that is - how many passes of every row and column does my solver need to complete the puzzle without guessing). I also improved the tool last week to provide an extra layer of solvability checking to ensure all featured puzzles are high quality.
Reviewing puzzles is a fun, yet surprisingly difficult task. Keep up the great puzzle submissions! Even if your puzzle is not featured, you can still share your creation with your friends by url in the app.
